Norwalk CT, October 14, 2011 — Best Friends Pet Care Inc., the leader in the U.S. pet boarding industry, honored “The Best of the Best” with awards for outstanding achievement at the company’s October 2011 Managers Conference here last week.
Susan Adam, manager of the Best Friends Pet Care center in Spring, TX, was named “Manager of the Year” from among the company’s 42 pet care center managers. Tara Manganiello, manager of Best Friends White Plains, NY center, was named “Rookie of the Year”, recognizing her performance as manager of one of the company’s largest pet care centers.
Awards also were presented for center business performance, safety performance, staff training, facility presentation and customer satisfaction.

Adam joined Best Friends in 2003 as assistant manager at the company’s facility in Ashland MA. She was promoted to manager of the Sudbury MA location in 2005 and, in 2009, moved to Texas to assume leadership of Spring TX center. Prior to joining Best Friends, Adam worked in the retail and hospitality industries.
Manganiello joined Best Friends as an animal care technician at the company’s Harrison NY location in 2003. After completing study, testing and certification in multiple job categories, she was promoted to manager intern in 2005 and assistant manager in 2007, moving to company’s flagship Norwalk CT location in 2008. She was promoted to her current post in January 2011.
