Want a Well Behaved Dog?
We Know just the Trick.

Come. Sit. Stay a while. After a short time at Best Friends, your wish for a “good dog” is our command.

We offer a wide variety of dog training classes to fit dogs from puppyhood to adult. Our unique Board & Train program allows your pet to have one-on-one training while he stays the night. Imagine, going away and coming back to a dog who no longer eats your shoes!

Our training techniques, taught by experienced instructors, are always positively reinforced. And class sizes are small, ensuring your pet gets the attention he or she deserves.

For both pets and their owners, training at Best Friends is the REAL treat.

Our Staff Dog Trainer Amanda Phinney is an Animal Behavior College graduate which certifies her as a dog trainer and behaviorist. She believes that training any dog begins with training the owners. Consistency and management in all areas of the dogs experience is the key to a successful training program. As with anything you must start small and take tiny steps towards your goals. Amanda trains using positive reinforcement and clicker training with discipline coming in the form of negative punishment (taking away something the dog wants).

Puppy Kindergarten

This course also addresses some common behavior problems such as potty training, biting, jumping and chewing. This class will also make time for teaching you how to socialize and desensitize your puppy so that they may grow into a well adjusted adult. The bond of trust and understanding will last a lifetime.

Consistency and practice at home will be key for this training.
