Best Friends Pet Care: Boarding, Grooming, and More

Facts About Dogs and Cats

• In the case of any emergency for which the center needs to get in touch with you, make sure to leave an emergency number where you can be reached, as well as your veterinarian's name and number. Should a problem arise during your pet's stay, personnel must be able to reach you or make a decision based on your requests.

• Special care may need to be taken when handling or feeding your pet as well. As always, let the center's personnel know what your pet's needs or habits are. Due to their age, older pets sometimes need softer food. Consult with the center about the type of food your pet will be given, the water supply and treats. If your pet is on a special diet or if you want to continue giving your pet his same food, speak with the people in charge at the center and make the necessary arrangements.

Your kennel will be responsible for providing your pet with a neat and secure environment and for monitoring the health of all pets left in their care. Bear in mind that the kennel center might not be able to prevent the stress your pet might suffer due to separation from their family or from staying at an unfamiliar place, but make sure that the center will be willing to cope with that. Many centers dedicate some time for cuddling with your pet, others play soft music to help your pet relax. Selecting a center for an older pet might not be the same as selecting a center for a younger one. Pet's needs are different, and they depend on your good judgment for selecting a proper place where they will await your prompt return.
