Puppy Training

Puppies and Their Chewing Nature

During a puppy’s development, there is a period of time when he develops a tendency for chewing everything he can find. This is normal puppy behavior, though it should be corrected to prevent your puppy or dog from destroying your belongings. While you cannot force your puppy to stop chewing, you can train him to differentiate between what can be chewed and what should not be touched. To begin training your puppy, you will first need to get stuff some things, like toys, that your puppy can chew on. As always, praise your puppy enthusiastically for chewing on the right things. Make sure that you do not leave anything on the floor that you do not want to be chewed by your puppy. This will help you keep your things safe from your puppy’s teeth.
