The following are some basic tricks your dog can learn to perform:
Sitting Your dog should learn to sit on command and be accustomed to sitting before going through a doorway, getting in or out of the car, before getting petted by strangers or visitors, and before getting his dinner or a treat. A sitting dog will not be able to knock a bowl of food out of your hand, charge through a slightly open door or jump out of the car before you can clip on the leash, and so on. Lying Down By teaching your dog to lie down, he will not be begging at the table, will not bother the kids while they play, will ride quietly in the car, etc. Standing Still Teaching your dog to stand still will help him to more easily be groomed or have his feet, ears, and teeth examined by the veterinarian
Walking on a leash Your dog should learn to walk on a leash without pulling you. The ‘come' command This will teach your dog to come to you when called, wherever and whenever.
Reprimands while training: During the training process, dogs may begin to feel that they are continually being yelled at for every movement they make. This is obviously not a positive indicator; frequent reprimand can become pointless and meaningless and as a result is ignored. However, if our communication with our dog is constantly filled with praise for good behavior, reprimands will take on a more significant meaning. Should the need to reprimand your dog arise, immediately make clear to your dog what you expect, afterwards reward him for getting it correctly. Schedule a dog training session with us today.
