Consistency: Consistency is crucial to the successful training your dog. The main idea is to create a well designed framework so that your dog will have a better understanding of your demands. Do not feed your dog from the table if you don't want him to beg. If you want to teach him to get on or off the sofa, avoid pulling him up or down. Teach your dog the commands "up" and "off" so that your dog will climb on the furniture only when invited. Keep this same pattern constant for all actions that you require of your pet.
Fun games and tricks: Training should be an enjoyable experience combined with games, praise, and lots of affection. Seek to make every session "short and sweet" but as productive and pleasant as you possibly can. That ensures that your dog will always look forward to each session, just as he looks forward to his daily exercise. Avoid dull, boring, tedious or lengthy training sessions. Instead, incorporate training into your daily routine. Make obedience training interesting and meaningful to your dog. He will learn faster and your training time together will be more enjoyable for you both. Learn more from our expert trainers.
