Obedience Training For Your Dog

"What training equipment do you recommend?" -- The instructor should be flexible here and consent to personal preferences of the dog owner as well as the particular needs of the dog. The appropriate answer will comprise their general recommendation, while at the same time indicating that your dog's needs will be taken into consideration in order to find the best suitable equipment for him/her.

"What is your opinion of Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, Pitbulls, Akitas, Chows, terriers, hounds or any other breed typically tagged as hard to train or aggressive?" -- The correct answer should be that "the breed can be aggressive or hard to train, but if you are consistent and determined in your training and recognize and understand your dog's temperament, you can be successful." Knowledge of individual dog or breed disposition to training should never be limited to generalizations. A reliable instructor would not label a dog of a particular breed or mix as impossible to train or aggressive. If, for any given reason, the instructor chooses not to work with certain breeds, he may direct you to another school. Ask our experienced dog trainers about our ovedience classes.
