Crate Training Your Dog

Some Final Recommendations

Contrary to what some people think, crate training is not an unpleasant experience for your puppy. Once your puppy is properly adjusted to the crate, it will feel like a safe haven for him. Aside from being a useful training tool for your new puppy or dog, a crate will keep your puppy from misbehaving while you are not home and will also help protect him from hurting himself with sharp items in your house. We recommend that you provide a kennel crate throughout your dog's lifetime. Some crates allow for the removal of the door once it is no longer necessary for the purpose of training. Most dogs who have been introduced to the kennel crate while still young grow up to prefer their crate for sleeping or occasionally just spending time in.
