 Meet our Trainer: Shawn Murace
Whether you are interested in basic training, correct behavior problems or teaching your dog advance skills, our new dog trainer Shawn Murace can help.
Shawn is an active participant in the dog sports of sledding and in Schutzhund with his nine dogs and also fosters and rehabilitates problem dogs for shelters and rescues.
His dogsled team has been featured in print, television and radio.
More than a trainer, Shawn serves as a guest lecturer for schools from elementary to college level and community groups on dog care, training and dog bite prevention.
His approach to training utilizes long-establish behavioral modification techniques, which he believes allows for the greatest success rate for handler and dog alike. Says
Shawn: "We don't put obedience into your dog, we pull it from within."
Shawn offers a full range of small group classes on evenings and weekends from basic through advanced obedience, private lessons and board-and-train for dogs of all breeds and ages, as well as behavioral modification training for a range of problems, including aggression.

 Boarding:
We offer a wide array of spacious accommodations for dogs, as well as our feline guests. Enhance your pet's stay by choosing from our menu of activities and amenities, such as Bedtime Storytelling, Playtimes and Cuddletimes, Ice Cream Treats, Premium Bedding and more - available a la carte or in one of our Value Packages.
 Grooming:
Our full-service salon caters to dogs of all shapes and sizes, short-haired or long. A basic Pampered Pet Package includes shampoo, brushing, nails, ears, and foot trim (if necessary). If a haircut is required, our stylists hand scissor or clip your dog to your specifications. Do you have a new puppy? It's never too soon to start their grooming routine - so ask about our $10 Puppy Groom Package.
 Training:
Courses include Puppy Kindergarten, Basic Obedience, and Canine Good Citizen, and in some centers Agility or Flyball may also be offered. For more challenging cases, or if your schedule makes attending classes difficult, private lessons may be arranged. In addition, we offer two-week Board & Train services, where your dog will be trained, one-on-one with our trainer, while boarding at Best Friends. Download our brochure for this
