What is the Best Friend of the Week?
It is our way of letting our Best Friends visitors, you, show off your Best Friend, your dog or cat. If you love your Best Friends as much as we love ours, we know how much you love to show them off to fellow pet lovers. This is a chance to showcase your Best Friend and give them the recognition they deserve!
What sort of pets will be chosen?
We will only be selecting dogs or cats for this program.
What happens if my dog or cat is chosen?
When Your Best Friend is chosen, their certificate, photo and description will be posted on our website for an entire week. We will do our best to contact you by email before publication so that you will be able to notify your friends and family of your pet's week of fame!
You will also be able to download a copy of the certificate and description to your hard disk for you to print out and show off!
How is The Best Friend Of The Week chosen?
All of the submissions will be reviewed as they come in and a new featured Best Friend will be chosen each week. Submissions will be evaluated by the quality of the photography, and the clever pet description given.
What sort of photo are you looking for?
The cuter the better! But the photo should be clear and fairly close-up so that the charming details of your pet can be seen clearly. Contrasts between your pet and the background work best. You don't want to photograph your black labrador on a dark rug, all you will see are eyes and a tounge. And please don't dress your pet up. They don't like it and it makes them harder to see.
Do you want me or anyone else in the picture?
Sorry, this is for pets only, and we will only be selecting photos that feature your pet alone.
Can I submit more than 1 photo?
Please do your best to select your best shot and only submit 1. We will only open and view the first photo submitted.
In what format should the photo be submitted?
The photos should be sent in .jpg format. Although we will accept other file formats for consideration, we cannot guarantee their compatibility with our image editing software.
What size should the file be?
The maximum file size that we accept is 1MB.
If I can't get my email to work, can I send a hard copy?
Sorry, but at this time we will only be selecting submissions that are sent electronically.
