Best Friends newest Pet Resort & Salon in the Castelton section of Indianapolis opened in April with a flourish — and a visit by local WISH-TV celebrity Barney the Beagle and his morning news reporter sidekick, Dick Wolfsie.

Barney and Dick broadcast from the Indianapolis Pet Resort the morning before its official opening on April 15th. Over the course of the morning, Barney toured the resort, was treated to a whirlpool in the spa, and then tried out one of the suites in Doggy Village — all live on the Indianapolis CBS affiliate.

Best Friends staff decided to dedicate the suite to Barney and WISH-TV invited viewers to take part in a "name the suite" contest. The winners, Michelle and Ted Sinkler of Coatesville, IN, were awarded a weekend spa getaway for Dreyfus, their black Lab.

A plaque, which the winning name — Barney's Suite Re-Treat — now hangs on the suite.
