Routine and Your Puppy

Setting a routine is important for your puppy. Puppies like and need routine. It allows them to know what to expect and when. It can also expedite the housetraining process. There are several important schedules that you should set right away with your puppy. The first is his food and water routine. These should be given at the same time every day. Your puppy should then be taken outside about 15 minutes after eating, which brings up his eliminating routine. Pick one spot outside where your puppy can relieve himself. Put him on a leash and take him to that spot every time you take him outside to eliminate. Last, you should set a routine for training and exercise. Many destructive behaviors like digging and chewing can help to be prevented with a daily 15 to 20 minute walk. Training and exercise should take place at the same time each day.
