Q

Is the loss of teeth in older cats something to be concerned about?

A

It's fairly normal for senior cats to suffer tooth loss, but it can cause problems. Aside from the fact that chewing can become more difficult and lead to changes in appetite and behavior, it's also possible for bacteria from infections around the cat's mouth to spread into the bloodstream. Your cat should be seen your vet and regular cleaning, or even professional cleaning, may be recommended.
